Hospital employee shot dead in Quezon


CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 41-year-old employee was gunned down on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Malabanban Norte, this town, on Saturday morning, September 28.

Police identified the victim as Donnabel Macatangay Malabanan, married, of Barangay Poblacion here.

Investigation said the victim was on his way to work in a hospital onboard a tricycle driven by Renier Tibayan when two men appeared and shot her.

Malabanan sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.

The suspects fled.

Recovered in the crime scene were four fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 and two deformed caliber .45 slugs.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old housewife died after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a road in Barangay Del Rosario, Lopez, this province, on Saturday night, September 28.

Police identified the victim as Vivian dol Quiapos, a resident of Barangay Del Rosario.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead due to serious injuries.

The motorcycle driver, Manuel, 18, of Barangay Villa Espina, this town, was arrested and faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
