Low-cost carriers Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines kicked off a piso sale to encourage more tourists to travel across and outside the country.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Cebu Pacific said travelers can book direct flights from Iloilo to Tagbilaran, Daraga (Legazpi), and Dumaguete for as low as P1 one-way base fare until October 31, exclusive of fees and surcharges. Travel period is from Dec. 1, 2024, until May 31, 2025.
Beginning Dec. 1, Cebu Pacific will operate daily flights between Iloilo and Tagbilaran; and thrice a week flights from Iloilo to Daraga (Legazpi) route on Dec. 2 and to Dumaguete on Dec. 3.
On Oct. 27, Cebu Pacific also relaunched its direct flights between Iloilo and Hong Kong, becoming the sole airline offering international flights from Iloilo International Airport. The carrier’s Iloilo-Hong Kong flights will operate four times a week—every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines said AirAsia travelers can book tickets for both domestic and international routes for P1 base fare which can be used for travel from April 21, 2025 to March 28, 2026.
“Forward booking is the new trend in travel. Travelers are now aware that huge savings is attainable if trips are planned effectively,” AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla said. “More than stimulating demand for tourism and air travel, AirAsia Philippines’ P1SO sale is meant to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of ordinary Filipinos. Taking part in their memorable experiences has always been AirAsia’s commitment.”
As of October, Taipei, Bangkok, Narita, Incheon, and Osaka, remain the top five of choice for international travel, while Cebu, Boracay, Iloilo, Tacloban, and Bohol remain the most booked for domestic travel among all AirAsia routes.
Meanwhile, AirAsia issued a reminder for guests traveling to and from NAIA Terminal 2 following the scheduled transfer of three other airlines beginning Nov. 5.
“With the expected surge of passenger volume at Terminal 2, we advise our guests to adequately plan their trips to the airport. They must also factor in road repairs and weather conditions that may cause flooding in the major thoroughfares”, Isla added.
Guests are also encouraged to utilize online check-in for seamless check-in procedures.
