BIR implements another major revamp


Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. has implemented another reshuffling of key field positions, primarily in Metro Manila, in an effort to strengthen the agency’s chances of meeting its annual collection target.

The BIR has been consistently hitting its monthly collection goals, with a total of P2.6 trillion collected for 2024.

The latest personnel changes include Revenue Regional Director Bobby G. Mailing, who was reassigned from Quezon City to Manila, and Renato N. Molina, who moved from Manila to Makati. Rodel S. Buenaobra, previously assigned to Laguna-Quezon-Marinduque (LaQueMar), will now oversee operations in Quezon City, while Iloilo City Regional Director Joseph M. Catapia has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Collection Service.

Other notable reassignments include Emilia C. Combes, formerly the Assistant Regional Director of the Cordillera Autonomous Region, who now takes over as Regional Director of Iloilo City; Dante E. Tan, who moves from Assistant Regional Director of Makati to Regional Director of LaQueMar; and Carmen Grace L. Comoda, formerly Assistant Regional Director of Davao City, who is now Head Executive Assistant of the Collection Service.

Additionally, Magdalena A. Ancheta, formerly Head Revenue Executive Assistant for Planning and Management Service, has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of the same division, and Grace T. Dizon, previously Chief of the Management Division, will now serve as Head Executive Assistant of the Planning Management Service.
