With its cozy lounge, game area, and hidden photo booth, the brand's newest store is set to become the go-to hangout spot in the metro

In today’s retail landscape, providing an experience alongside a physical store is essential. It is the latest trend in the industry, where a good product alone isn’t enough to attract customers. After all, brands are always selling a lifestyle, and experiencing that in their own space turns fantasy into reality.

The latest addition is Sunnies, which has opened its new boutique in SM Mall of Asia (SM MOA). Unlike its earlier stores, this recently unveiled space offers more. Dubbed Sunnies World, the store brings together Sunnies Studios, Sunnies Face, and now Sunnies Flask and Sunnies Coffee in one chic location. This follows the success of Sunnies World in Cebu and SM Megamall. The difference is that the SM Mall of Asia store is much grander—500 square meters to be exact—making it the brand’s biggest store yet.

It was a serendipitous moment for founders Eric Dee, Bea Soriano Dee, Martine Cajucom, Georgina Wilson, and Jessica Wilson, as Sunnies first debuted its kiosk in 2013 at SM MOA.

“Ever since we launched, we wanted to change the way people shop in the Philippines,” Georgina tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “This has always been our vision, especially after launching here over 10 years ago. We want to be a place that is not just about buying things—it’s also about experiencing, relaxing, and enjoying a cup of coffee.”

Chill and relax

A perfect hangout spot, Sunnies World in SM MOA features a warm and relaxed ambiance. Its design is inspired by space-age and retro-futuristic aesthetics. It includes distinct areas where shoppers can lounge and unwind. There’s a cozy lounge for relaxation, a reading room for book lovers, a listening booth with curated playlists, a chess area for a game of fun, a hidden photo booth for capturing memories, and a personalization area for engraving and embroidering Sunnies merchandise.

Get a cup of coffee

After selecting their eyewear and building their unique flasks, shoppers shouldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a brewed drink at Sunnies Coffee. One of our top picks is the Popcorn Latte, which is exclusively sold at the SM MOA store.

Shop with a purpose

In a commitment to support the community, Sunnies World MOA proudly partners with MovEd, a non-profit organization aimed at bringing early childhood care and development programs to children in underserved communities in the Philippines. Sunnies has pledged that 100 percent of sales from its MOA-exclusive merchandise will benefit MovEd’s Move-A-Child sponsorship program, an initiative that helps children in need access quality education, healthcare, and nutrition. Visitors are also encouraged to donate educational and children’s books to support the program.

“Humans aren’t streamlined. We have so many needs; sometimes we want to chill and catch up with friends, and there are so many layers to who we are,” Georgina says. “I hope that anyone who comes here will find something that interests them, no matter what mood they are in.”
