The administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas will continue to support Senator Imee Marcos despite her preference to "stand alone".

Thus, said Navotas City lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco, the newly-minted campaign manager of Alyansa, in a statement Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28.

(The Alyansa will continue to support Senator Imee for the success of President Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr.'s legislative agenda, for all-inclusive progress that will benefit everyone.)

Imee is the older sister of President Marcos, the figurehead of the administration coalition. The Chief Executive unveiled her as part of the 12-person administration Senate slate last Thursday, but she didn't attend the Alyansa event.

Instead, she said she "chose to stand alone chose to stand alone so that my ading will no longer be put in a difficult position, and my true friends won’t have to hesitate".

"Ading" in Ilokano means younger sibling.

(We have high respect and admiration for Senator Imee Marcos, especially with her advocacies and track record in public service. The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas believes in her ability to serve every Filipino.)
