The city government said that aside from the certificates, graduates also received toolkits and allowances to help them start their careers.

In his speech, City Mayor John Rey Tiangco commended the graduates for their dedication and perseverance to finish their courses.

Tiangco stressed the importance of continuous learning and skills development.

“Hindi ibig sabihin na hindi tayo nakapagtapos ng pormal na pag-aaral o wala tayong diploma ay wala na tayong pag-asa. May oportunidad pa ring umasenso (Just because we didn’t finish formal education or don’t have a diploma doesn’t mean we have no hope. There are still opportunities to succeed),” he said.

He also emphasized that having the right skills and attitude is key to achieving success, whether in employment or business.

The mayor also encouraged the youth to cultivate positive habits and a growth mindset, underscoring that these traits are crucial to long-term success.

“Mahalaga ang patuloy na pagpapalago sa ating kaalaman, pagpapahusay ng ating skills, at pagbuo ng magandang habits at mindset para tayo ay magtagumpay (Continuous growth in our knowledge, improving our skills, and building good habits and mindset are essential for us to succeed),” Tiangco said.

He also urged the graduates to take advantage of additional city programs such as the NegoSeminars at the NavotaAs Hanapbuhay Center, which are designed to further enhance their skills.

The city government said that the city currently operates three training centers that offer free technical and vocational courses to residents. Non-residents also have the option to enroll for a fee.
