2 dead, 1 hurt in tricycle-bus collision in Isabela


TUMAUINI, Isabela – Two persons were killed and their companion was seriously injured in a collision between their tricycle and a passenger bus in Barangay Lalauanan, this town, on Wednesday evening, September 25.

Police Major Melchor Aggabao Jr., chief of police here, identified the fatalities as Mark Anthony Pascual, 26, and passenger Jaymar B. Cabigas, a senior high school student.

Investigation said a Victory Liner bus driven by Bonifacio Cabanilla allegedly occupied the lane of the oncoming tricycle, resulting in a collision.

Aggabao said that the fatalities were declared dead at the hospital due to serious injuries.

Bryan James Dacuba, the other tricycle passenger, was also seriously injured and in critical condition in the hospital.

Cabanilla is under police custody and faces cases of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injuries.

Aggabao advised motorists to drive carefully.

Meanwhile, three fast-food chain employees were killed after their motorcycle was accidentally hit by a dump truck loaded with soybeans in Barangay Bangot, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya on Tuesday, September 24.

Police identified the victims as Russel, the motorcycle driver, and his back riders Suena and Fergielyn.

The dump truck driver, John Paul Pascual, 32, of Lubao, Pampanga, faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.
