Project Angel Tree is a campaign to create a nation free from child labor. This initiative has been a key driver in the city’s efforts to eliminate child labor by continuously tackling the underlying issues of labor and employment.

A total of 46 profiled child laborers in Valenzuela City were the beneficiaries of the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program of DOLE, an anti-child labor initiative wherein social services are provided for documented child workers. It also provides them with an opportunity to enjoy their leisure time as a child and momentarily set aside their responsibilities

Through the local government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), 28 companies and five overseas companies joined the job fair.

The One-Stop-Shop also assisted 189 people with pre-employment services such as SSS, PSA, PhilHealth, TESDA, Project AYOS, and PAGIBIG.

Mayoress Tiffany Gatchalian, Councilors Niña Lopez, and Ricar Enriquez, representatives from DOLE NCR-CAMANAVA, Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns, CSWDO, PESO, Rotary Club of Valenzuela, and Valenzuela Lions Club all collectively signed the Zero Child Labor Manifesto which aims to fight and eliminate child labor in the Philippines and raise awareness on it.
