Former 4Ps beneficiary tops 2024 social worker licensure exam

Another former beneficiary of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has achieved recognition by topping the September 2024 Social Worker Licensure Examination (SWLE).

DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao shared on Wednesday, Sept. 25 that Sheena Mae Magdato Obispo scored 87 percent, placing her first among 4,587 passers.

From Camalig, Albay, Obispo is a Set 5 program beneficiary of 4Ps.

Dumlao said Obispo’s success reflects the positive impact of the 4Ps on developing human capital.

“We couldn’t be any prouder of Ms. Sheena Obispo’s achievement, just like how we view every success story of our 4Ps beneficiaries. Altogether, their narrative speaks a lot about the support and opportunities we extend to also nurture our beneficiaries’ talent and potentials,” she said.

Obispo joins other accomplished former beneficiaries, including Khane Jevie Rose Solante Cervantes, who ranked first in the May 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers in the Elementary Level.

According to DSWD, over 36,000 former 4Ps child-beneficiaries have passed various licensure exams, with 53 achieving top ranks.

Launched in 2008 and institutionalized by Republic Act No. 11310 in 2019, the 4Ps serves as the national poverty reduction strategy and human capital investment program, providing conditional cash transfers to poor households for up to seven years to enhance their children’s health, nutrition, and education.
