Defending champion De La Salle University is hoping for a quick bounce back when it faces Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Reeling from a painful 75-71 defeat at the hands of the UE Red Warriors, Kevin Quiambao and the Green Archers (3-1) aim to recover and vent their ire on the winless Tamaraws (0-4) in their 4:30 p.m. duel.

In the second game, Adamson (2-2) tackles the struggling National University (1-3) at 6:30 p.m.

The Taft-based squad absorbed its first loss in the season last Sunday against the Red Warriors who held their ground in the endgame despite the strong resistance from the formidable Green Archers.

Quiambao sank a floater to cut the deficit to just two, 73-71, with 28.4 seconds left on the clock, but he failed to convert his free throws which could have sent the game to overtime in their next possession.

Despite the late-game mishap, the Green Archers will surely count on him along with Mike Phillips, Vhoris Marasigan and Henry Agunnane.

FEU head coach Sean Chambers will try to pull off a stunner against the reigning champs as he leans on Jorick Bautista, Adam Nakai and Veejay Pre to steer the Tamaraws.

Meanwhile, the Falcons and the Bulldogs are seeking to bounce back from their tough losses last weekend.
