5 minors held for robbing Iloilo City Public Safety Office


ILOILO CITY — Five minors were arrested for robbing the Public Order and Safety Management Office of the Iloilo city government over the weekend.

According to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), the perpetrators were five boys.

The oldest was 15 and his companions were a 13-year-old, an 11-year-old, and two nine-year-old.

Police  quickly identified the suspects as they did not delete photos of each other and selfies they took using  the DSLR camera of the POSMO located at the old Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) building.

The suspects left the camera behind but carted away two laptops and a cellphone which were all recovered.

Police said the incident was reported after employees returned to work on Monday, September 23.

Lawmen launched a follow-up operation where the suspects were caught.

Imvestigators said the burglary might have occurred sometime over the weekend.

Mayor Jerry Treñas lauded the ICPO for quickly investigating the incident.

The five minors were turned over to the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office.
