Pasig City employees to receive salary increase - Mayor Vico

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Monday, September 23, that the notice of salary adjustment of the local government employees is now being processed. 

Sotto said that the salary adjustment is in accordance with Executive Order (EO) 64 or the Salary Standardization Law 6, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in August.

He added that the salary increase will be retroactive from August 15.

“May adjustment po tayo at effective August 15 ang ating ordinance, so kahit September 23 na po ngayon ay effective August 15 ang ating salary adjustment kaya sana po ay magamit natin ng maigi ang karagdagang sahod po natin (We have a salary adjustment, and our ordinance is effective as of August 15, so even though it’s already September 23, the salary adjustment takes effect retroactively from August 15. I hope we can make good use of the additional salary),” the mayor said.

He reminded city employees to use their salary increase wisely.

“Yung August 15 hanggang ngayong September ay ituring na natin ‘yun na parang bonus. Paalala lang po, h'wag natin gastusin ang pera bago pa po natin [ito] matanggap. Alam ko masaya po ang bawat isa at congratulations sa ating lahat (Let’s consider the amount from August 15 to September as a bonus. Just a reminder, don’t spend the money before you get it. I know everyone is happy, so congratulations to all of us!),” Sotto added. 

The Public Information Office (PIO) said that the salary increase varies per salary grade.

Under EO 64, the updated salary applies to all civilian government personnel in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches; Constitutional Commissions; and other constitutional offices.

Government-Owned or-Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) not covered by the “GOCC Governance Act of 2011” and EO No. 150 (s.2021) and the Local Government Units (LGUs) are also covered by the EO 64.
