Hard work and perseverance.

These are the two major things highlighted in "Mamay: A Journey to Greatness," Mayor Marcos Mamay's recently released biopic.

The film dramatizes the politician's struggles until eventually becoming one of the more well-known public servants in Lanao Del Norte.

During the red carpet premiere, Mayor Marcos reiterated his hope that the film would inspire others to dream big.

"This is a very inspiring movie. I want people, especially those who belong to the marginalized sector, to know there is always hope and opportunities to reach your dreams if you focus all your energies on it," he said.

Also present during the red carpet presentation were Ara Mina, Jeric Raval and PCSO Director Imelda Papin.

"I accepted this movie dahil inspirational talaga ang buhay ni Mayor Mamay. Nakita ko din nang personal ang napakagandang lugar ng Nunungan nang dahil din sa efforts ni Mayor," Ara said.

(I accepted this movie because Mayor Mamay's life is really inspirational. I also personally saw the beauty of Nunungan all because of the Mayor's efforts)

From playing antagonists in previous films, Jeric shows a whole new side of himself in the biopic.

"I am honored na ako ang napili ni Mayor Mamay na gumanap bilang siya sa pelikulang ito. Humanga ako sa mga pinagdaanan ni Mayor. Truly inspiring," Jeric said.

(I am honored that Mayor Mamay chose me to play him in this movie. I am impressed by what the Mayor has gone through. Truly inspiring)
