Observed on September 26, the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) established World Environment Health Day in 2011 to raise awareness about environmental health risks.

The celebration helps people worldwide understand that human health is tied to the state of the Earth's environment. The initiative seeks to address issues such as pollution, waste management, and sustainable living practices in promoting healthier, cleaner environments for all.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said some of the activities included a community bike ride, zumba, Mobile Recyclable Redemption Center, and an Environmental Health Fair as part of the city's Kalyesugan Family Day held along Caruncho Ave.

Around 250 cyclists participated in the 20-km community bike ride that allowed them to visit different parts of Pasig. A push bike race was also held for children aged 3-5 years-old as well as free bike lessons for those who wish to learn how to ride a bike or expand their cycling skills.

"Bukod sa healthy lifestyle, isinulong din ng programa ang environmental conservation sa pamamagitan ng Mobile Recyclable Redemption Center, kung saan maaaring magdala ng recyclable waste materials kapalit ng grocery items gaya ng bigas, de lata, kape, asukal, biskwit, at iba pa (Aside from a healthy lifestyle, the event also aims to promote programs focusing on environmental conservation such as the Mobile Recyclable Redemption Center. Here, residents may bring recyclable waste materials in exchange for grocery items which include rice, canned goods, coffee, sugar, biscuits, and others)," the city government explained.

The city also conducted an Environmental Health Fair which featured proudly Filipino made products using recyclable materials and nutritious food and drinks.

Meanwhile, Pasig's Nutrition Committee held nutrition-related games which helped enrich the public's knowledge on nutrition.
