There's another option for electric vehicles in the form of AION cars. Dangdang New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Limited Corporation announced their distributorship of AION electric vehicles in the Philippines and inaugurated their flagship showroom in Makati City.
Aion was established in 2017 as a subsidiary of GAC Group in China which produces electric vehicles. AION stands for “AI On the Road”, representing Intelligence, Emotion, and Trust. AION’s core mission is creating a “Smarter Companion” for customers, using AI to enhance the driving experience. AION’s brand DNA is advanced, fun, trendy, and high-quality, and positioned as a high-end intelligent EV brand.
AION Y Plus
During the event, AION Philippines unveiled their initial offerings for the local market. The first is the AION Y Plus, a five-seat compact crossover SUV powered by a 63.2-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery which powers a Permanent Magnet Synchronus Motor. It puts out 201-hp with 225-Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels. It has four drive modes: i-Pedal, Eco, Normal and Sport and has an NEDC range of 490-kilometers.
It has amenities like a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, electric hidden door handles, heated folding rear view mirros, roof rails, six-way power adjustable drivers seat, wireless phone charging, keyless entry, automatic climate control with rear vents and cruise control. Its six-speaker infotainment system is equipped with a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity, FM Radio and Apple CarPlay. The cabin has ambient lighting with music mode.
For safety it’s equipped with front, side and side curtain airbags, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control Program (ESP), Hill Hold Control (HHC). The AION Y Plus Premuim is priced at P1.698M and the AION Y Plus Elite is priced at P1.498M.
AION ES
The AION ES is a subcompact four-door sedan powered by a 55.2-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery which powers a Permanent Magnet Synchronus Motor that puts out 134-hp with 225-Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels. It has an NEDC range of 442 kilometers.
Some of its amenities are automatic air conditioning with rear air vents, push button start, it has an 8-inch LCD infotainment screen with radio and Bluetooth and 2 x USB ports in front and 2x USB in the rear. Safety features are front airbags, seatbelt reminder. Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electroniuc Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Hill Hold Control System (HHC), Reverse Camera, Parking Sensors, Auto Hold (Automatic Parking Brake) and Cruise Control. The AION ES is priced at P1.358M.
Flagship AION showroom
The first AION showroom is located at 2287 Chino Roces Extension Avenue in Makati City. The 1,420 square meter facility has a spacious floor area that can display six vehicles, an electric vehicle platform and an after sales service area. There are four electric vehicle charging stations with two AC chargers and two DC fast chargers.
AION Philippines also confirmed three new dealer partners: AION Bacolod, AION Cagayan de Oro, and AION Davao
