P18.1-M marijuana destroyed in Ilocos Sur-Benguet boundary

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Authorities destroyed fully grown marijuana plants valued at P18.1 million during an eradication operation in the boundaries of Sugpon, Ilocos Sur, and Kibungan, Benguet on Sunday, September 22.

The operation dubbed Indica Bravo was conducted by the 1st Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Benguet and the Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS).

The plantation was accidentally discovered in a routine patrol by the ISPMFC. It was estimated to have a total area of 7,500-square meters.

Destroyed were 90,000 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P18 million and 4,000 marijuana seedlings valued at P160,000.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office-1 chief, commended operating units for their achievement and reminded them to prioritize their safety and that of the community in their duties.

Batangas

Two suspected drug pushers were arrested and shabu valued at P1.3 million was seized in a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon, September 22, in Barangay Tulo, in Taal, Batangas.

Police identified the suspects as Romeo, 44, and Dalia, 37.

Recovered from the suspects were one knot-tied big transparent plastic containing suspected shabu weighing 200 grams with an estimated value of P1.3 million.

Suspects are detained at the Batangas Police Provincial Office detention facility and face appropriate charges. (Danny Estacio)

Quezon

Police apprehended three suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Villa Bota, Gumaca, Quezon on Sunday afternoon, September 22.

The suspects were identified as high-value individuals Allan, 51; Jayzon, 28, and Guruel, 48.

Confiscated from them were 42.44 grams of suspected shabu valued at P865,776.

Gumaca Mayor Webster Letargo commended the local police headed by Major Fernando Credo and thanked residents who helped, provided information, and paved the way for the successful operation. (Danny Estacio)
