Iloilo City Police Office readies for COC filing


ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Police Office is preparing security measures one week before the filing of Certificates of Candidacy here for the May 2025 mid-term elections.

“We are fully committed to safeguarding the integrity of the election process,” said ICPO Director Police Col. Kim Legada on Monday, September 23.

“Through strengthened security measures and active community cooperation, we aim to prevent any form of violence or intimidation,” added Legada.

The ICPO is ready to deploy additional personnel to strategic areas in the city, particularly near the city and provincial offices of Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The ICPO will also establish police assistance desks at COC filing centers as well as strengthening intelligence monitoring and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.

Police Capt. Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said the ICPO is closely coordinating with Comelec and other stakeholders.

The ICPO is engaging other sectors such as barangay officials for dialogues to promote peaceful elections.

The ICPO urged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
