Gunman arrested after shooting man to death outside Quiapo hotel
Police arrested a gunman shortly after he shot a man to death in front of a hotel in Quiapo, Manila on Sunday night, September 22.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Raymond Romano, 40, a resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
According to the police report, the victim, identified as Dagaranao Didato, was walking along Gunao Street in Quiapo around 10 p.m. on Sunday when the suspect appeared and suddenly shot him in the head.
Witnesses said the gunman shot the victim again in the head to make sure he was dead.
The victim was rushed to Justice Jose Abad Santos Hospital in Binondo, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Members of the MPD Barbosa Police station, who heard the gunshot, immedieately responded and nabbed the suspect after a brief chase.
Police said the suspect did not disclose his motive for the killing and opted to explain at the court hearing.
The suspect is now in police custody for murder charges, the MPD added.
