LOOK: What you should know about the very first hair extensions bar

Find out where the Tokyo Posh caravan will be at Look At Me

It has been 15 years since Tokyo Posh Chief Operating Officer Denise Aquino-Posadas introduced hair extensions in the Philippines. “It’s something that you change on a daily basis, just like your lipstick or bag,” she shares, adding that she was inspired to bring these in when she was studying fashion in Tokyo back in 2007.

Opening a retail store in 2009 had its fair share of challenges, eventually leading to branches in The Podium Mall, Power Plant Mall, and UP Town Center. “Being the first in the category meant a lot of convincing both the market and retail spaces,” she tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “With a lot of hard work, we are now given a chance to stand alongside global makeup brands at one of the most premium retail stores in the country.”

More than ready to take the next step, Tokyo Posh is currently working closely with Look At Me to establish the very first hair extensions bar in the Philippines. It launched its first leg at SM Aura Premier on September 6. Personalities such as Xandra Rocha, Vanna Garcia, and Kelly Misa attended the launch, where guests got to try the services first.

With over 50 hair extension styles to choose from—different lengths, textures, and colors that are made from either heat-resistant synthetic fiber or 100 percent human hair—visiting the bar can help clients choose the best styles that would fit them. Their knowledgeable staff will assist customers in trying on different hair extensions until they find the perfect match that fits their lifestyle. Every purchase comes with free hairstyling, too!

“Tokyo Posh is very selective in the materials we use, such as top-grade Japanese fiber that looks and feels like human hair. As for our human hair extensions, we do not mix in synthetic fiber just to make it more affordable for clients,” Posadas continues. “You also can’t find the extensions we offer at Tokyo Posh anywhere else, because I style and design these extensions which are usually inspired by celebrities, my personal needs, and client requests.”

This is what makes this hair extension brand stand out, attracting celebrities such as Jessy Mendiola, Moira Dela Torre, Andres Torres, Marie Lozano, and Wynn Marquez. “Tokyo Posh is also about collaboration with our clients. Every day, we work hand in hand with them to give them exactly what they want and need.” And with price points that range from P2,000 to P4,000 for synthetic clip-ons, and P15,500 and up for human hair extensions, there are options available for every budget and style preference.

The second leg started last September 16 at Look At Me, SM Mall of Asia, and will run for two weeks before proceeding to its final leg at SM North EDSA. Posadas is excited for what’s next,  “We hope to be more accessible to every Filipina by expanding into key cities not only in Metro Manila but also in Visayas and Mindanao, and we will be able to do this with SM and Look At Me.”
