Police Major Leo Estopa, San Enrique police chief, identified the victim as Eman Canencia, 44, of Barangay Batuan, San Enrique.

Estopa said the victim was speeding and overshot on the opposite lane.

Canencia plunged into a drainage and hit a 56-year-old man who was fishing in a creek. The man sustained injuries.

Estopa said the victim was on his way home from his farm when the accident happened.

The injured man was referred to a hospital here and is now in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a call center agent was killed, and three others, including a toddler, were injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a tricycle in Purok Ilang-Ilang, Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, September 19.

Police identified the fatality as John Paul Montaño, 25, of Barangay Busay, Bago City.

Police Corporal Kim Iver Cornel, traffic investigator of Bago City Police Station, said that Montaño was driving a motorcycle from his house to Barangay Poblacion when it collided with a tricycle driven by Joel Necesario, 34, with his wife, 32-year-old Marivic, and their three-year-old son, as passengers.

Cornel said that Montaño reportedly overtook another motorcycle and overlapped on Necesario’s lane while descending.

Montaño failed to return to his lane due to his speed. Necesario’s family was on their way home when the accident happened.

Cornel said that Montaño, who was not wearing a helmet, was declared dead in a hospital.

Necesario is still confined in a hospital while his wife and son have been discharged, Cornel said.
