4 nabbed in Pasay City after road rage resulted to shooting incident

Three Chinese nationals and a Filipino involved in a road rage that turned into a shooting incident were arrested in Pasay City early Saturday morning, September 21.

Pasay City police officer-in-charge P/Col. Samuel Pabonita identified the suspects as alias Xiaolei, 40; alias Wang, 31; alias Lin, 34, all Chinese nationals; and the Filipino security driver alias Redentor, 39.

According to the report submitted by Pabonita to Southern Police District (SPD) director P/Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, first to be arrested by the members of police Substation 1 were alias Xiaolei, alias Wang and alias Redentor at around 3:00 a.m. at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Barangay 76, Pasay City.

Rosete said reports showed that two vehicles, a Honda Odyssey and a silver-colored BMW, were both traversing the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard when the BMW suddenly hit the back portion of the Odyssey.

Both vehicles went into a halt at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue where they engaged themselves into a heated altercation which later led in a shooting spree.

Operatives of Substation 1 and the SWAT team responded to the scene and arrested alias Xiaolei, alias Wang and alias Redentor.

Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) Team together with investigators from the intelligence and Detective Management Section (IDMS) of the Pasay City police conducted thorough examination where they recovered eight fired cartridge cases of .9mm firearm, five live ammunition from a .9mm firearm, two metal jacket, one deformed bullet, one BMW 538 D, one Honda Odessey, assorted plate numbers, one TARA 9mm pistol with serial number one GIRSAN 9mm caliber pistol with serial number with magazine and 16 pieces of .9mm live ammunition, one Airsoft M4 Caliber with magazine, two knives, one Iphone, assorted designer bags and wallet, cheque book, identification cards, ₱2,050.00 cash, and key chains with assorted keys. 

Meanwhile, responding operatives missed alias Lin as the latter immediately fled after the shooting incident and chanced upon a certain William traveling onboard his driven e-bike along Macapagal Boulevard.

At gunpoint, alias Lin forcibly took the victim's e-bike and drove-off to his escape.

With the issued flash alarm, the neighboring Parañaque City police were able to trace the missing e-bike at around 10:32 a.m. in Barangay Tambo with the Pasay City police wasting no time and immediately conducted a dragnet operation at about 11:10 a.m. leading to the arrest of alias Lin and the recovery of the stolen e-bike in Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Recovered from alias Lin was a Glock 19X caliber 9mm pistol, one live round of 9mm ammunition, and the stolen e-bike.

All of the arrested suspects will undergo paraffin examinations, and a request for forensic analysis has been submitted to the relevant units while charges of Violation of RA 10591 or the   Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition will be filed against them at the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office.
