“Widen the scope of your good work and influence, and share your experience with others,” CSC Chair Karlo B. Nograles told the 28 individuals and groups honored during the Awards Rites for the 2024 Outstanding Government Workers held in Malacañang early this week.

Nograles, a longtime public official, also encouraged awardees to continue extending their good work and influence while sharing their experiences in implementing government programs and projects.

“Ang layunin natin ay ang patuloy na pag-unlad at pagpapabuti ng ating pagseserbisyo (Our goal is the continuous progress and improvement of our service),” Nograles said.

“Gawin natin ito nang may dedikasyon at pagmamahal sa ating bayan, hindi lamang upang madoble o ma-triple ang bilang ng mga pararangalan natin sa mga susunod na taon, kundi upang makamit natin ang ating pangarap, ang ating aspirasyon ng isang matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay para sa lahat (Let us do this with dedication and love for our country, not just to double or triple the number of those we honor in the coming years, but to achieve our dream, our aspiration of a stable, comfortable, and secure life for all),” he added.

Search for Outstanding Government Workers

Nograles explained that the annual Search for Outstanding Government Workers aims to recognize civil servants who have “shown utmost dedication and commitment to their work, as well as inspired other state employees toward deeper involvement in public service.”

Three different awards are given: the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) Award, and the CSC Pagasa Award.

Six individuals and groups were conferred the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award; there were 10 recipients of the Dangal ng Bayan Award; and eight individuals and one group received the Pagasa Award.

Nograles lauded the impact that past awardees have had in ensuring excellence in government service.

Because of them, more people are greatly satisfied with the changes in how government employees serve the Filipino people—some of which include faster and more convenient applications for programs, easier access to social assistance and livelihood aid, initiatives promoting the use of modern technology in agriculture, and many more),” he added.
