Man found dead inside sack in Kabankalan City

BACOLOD CITY – A 50-year-old man was found dead inside a sack in his house in Purok Luyang, Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, September 18.

Police identified the victim as Jennifer.

Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr., Kabankalan police chief, said the victim was already in an advanced state of decomposition when he was found by his cousin.

The victim’s cousin went to his house to check on him after he was not seen for about a week. Foul odor led him to discover the victim’s remains under his bed.

Indiape said the victim sustained injuries in the body from suspected stab or hack wounds.

Police said they have two persons of interest (POIs) but they need more evidence to establish the link of one of them to the crime.

Indiape said they received information that the victim’s house was allegedly being used by two persons, including a drug personality, as a drug den.

Barangay and police records showed that the victim was not in a drugs watchlist. But one of the POIs who was identified as a drug personality is under a watchlist, Indiape said.

Indiape said they are looking into the killing as drug-related or triggered by grudges.
