Strong winds uproot tree in QC


A tree was uprooted by strong winds brought by Tropical Storm Enteng and fell on Quezon Avenue in Quezon City on Monday, September 2, causing slow-moving traffic in the area.

According to the city's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), heavy rains and winds caused the tree collapse.

Personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) began clearing the area of the broken tree and its branches at around  8 a.m.

Local government personnel have been deployed to the area for ongoing clearing operations and to assist motorists affected by the road blockage.

The QCDRRMO said no injuries or casualties were reported from the incident.
