
Face-to-face classes at all levels, both in public and private schools, in Rizal province remain suspended on Sept. 3, Tuesday, the provincial government announced as it continued to monitor and assess the effect of Tropical Storm Enteng on Monday, Sept. 2.
Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares, in her post on Facebook, announced the suspension of classes following the state weather bureau’s forecast that heavy rains will continue.
Ynares said schools are advised to shift the learning modality to modular or distance learning.
Several areas in the province were battered by heavy rains, causing flooding and landslides in some areas in Antipolo City, where six fatalities were reported as of 4 p.m. on Sept. 2.
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices were still sending reports of the number of casualties or fatalities in their respective localities as of Monday afternoon, according to the command center at the Rizal Police Provincial Office headquarters.
