'Enteng' onslaught: 3 die in landslide, 3 drown in floods in Antipolo


Three individuals were killed in a landslide while three others drowned due to flooding caused by heavy rains brought about by Tropical Storm Enteng on Monday, September 2, authorities said.

Based on the report by the Antipolo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), two male siblings, a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old, as well as a pregnant woman, were buried in the landslide along Daang Pari in Sitio Hinapao, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City.

Their identities have yet to be disclosed by rescuers.

Meanwhile, three others were killed during the onslaught of the storm in different parts of Antipolo, making the total tally of deceased individuals to six.

One of the victims drowned in Barangay San Isidro while two others drowned in Barangay San Luis.

The province has been battered by torrential rains combined with strong gusts of wind since early Monday morning, forcing residents to evacuate their homes.
