At least 21 roads in Metro Manila were submerged into floodwaters due to heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Enteng”, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Monday, Sept. 2.
In a travel advisory, the DPWH noted that 20 of the affected roads remain accessible to all types of vehicles, while one road has restricted access.
The roads currently open to all vehicles include Taft Avenue (Northbound) at the corner of U.N. Avenue; Regalado Avenue (Northbound) at Bristol Street; G. Araneta Avenue at Maria Clara Street; Sto. Domingo Avenue at Samat Street; Maria Clara Street from G. Araneta Avenue to Sto. Domingo Avenue; G. Araneta Avenue near E. Rodriguez Sr.; Elliptical Road near Quezon Avenue; Commonwealth Avenue at University Avenue; Boni Avenue at F. Ortigas; MSR-Quirino Avenue from Alido Bridge to Zapote Flyover; MacArthur Highway in Brgy. Dalandanan, Valenzuela City, from G. Lazaro to Gov. T. Santiago Street; Gov. W. Pascual Avenue at Maria Clara Street; Gov. W. Pascual Avenue from Sitio 6 to Sanciangco Street; M.H. Del Pilar Street at E. Rodriguez Street; Don Basilio Bautista Boulevard from Dampalit Bridge to JCT Womens Club; JCT Womens Club from Flores Street to Naval Street; P. Aquino Street from Sanciangco to Everlasting Peace Memorial Park; P. Aquino Street at Gen. Luna Street Intersection, Malabon City; M. Naval Street from Badeo 2 to Tawiran Kuwatro, Navotas City; and Gov. A. Pascual Avenue from A. Leongson Street to Policarpio Street.
However, Sumulong Highway in Marikina City is passable only to heavy vehicles.
DPWH said its field personnel are actively monitoring road sections impacted by flooding.
