Banks suspend operations, airlines cancel flights due to 'Enteng'

Several banks have temporarily suspended operations in certain areas, while airlines have canceled flights on Monday, Sept. 2, due to adverse weather conditions brought by Tropical Storm “Enteng.”

In announcements on their social media platforms, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank), Land Bank of the Philippines and BDO Unibank said that some branches would be closed to prioritize the safety of customers and staff amid the storm’s impact.

Despite the branch closures, BPI, Metrobank, Landbank and BDO assured clients that online and mobile banking services, as well as ATM and Cash Accept Machine (CAM) services, remain operational.

Air travel has also been affected, with Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific Air canceling several flights due to the storm.

Cebu Pacific said it has communicated directly with affected passengers via email, offering options through their Manage Booking portal.

For passengers with canceled PAL flights, the carrier is providing options to convert tickets to Travel Credits, rebook or reroute to alternative flights, or obtain a full refund without penalties.
