Baguio honors 5 outstanding citizens


BAGUIO CITY – This city honored five outstanding citizens during the 115th Baguio Charter Anniversary celebration at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center on Sunday, September 1.

Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Rep. Mark Go, guest of honor US Ambassador to Manila MaryKay Carlson, and city officials led the event.

Awardees selected by the Society of Outstanding Citizens of Baguio (SOCOB) led by Joel Arthur Tibaldo were:

FIVE outstanding citizens of Baguio City were honored during the city's 115th charter anniversary at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center on Sunday, September 1. Dr. Jimmy Billod, the lone full-time gynecologic oncologist of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

Arnel Cabanisas, a retired military officer who had a 20-year career, nine years of which was in diverse roles at the Philippine Military Academy in Fort Del Pilar here.

Maricar Docyogen, owner of Bookends bookstore here and founder and leader of the Pasa-kalye Group of Artists.

Engr. Fernando Laranang, founder of FCL Laranang Companies based in this city.

Dr. Mary Arsenia Ngao-si Mondiguing, section chief for Cataract and Refractive Services of the Department of Ophthalmology and vice chairperson of the Research Ethics Committee of the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center in San Fernando City, La Union.
