Two motorcycle-riding women died after hitting a center island in Sampaloc, Manila, on Tuesday, September 3.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victims as Reana Antonette Tomas of San Antonio, Parañaque City, and her passenger as Ana Mae Adlaon of Medina, Misamis Oriental.
According to the police report, the two victims were traversing along northbound lane of Lacson corner G. Tuazon in Sampaloc at around 5 a.m. when the rider suddenly lost control and hit the center island.
Due to the strong impact, they were thrown 15 meters away from their motorcycle.
Medical responders said the victims were wearing helmets but were declared dead on the spot due to severe head injuries.
