Zamboanga City inks sisterhood agreement with Gumaca, Quezon

ZAMBOANGA CITY – This city formalized a sisterhood agreement with the municipality of Gumaca in Quezon province during a ceremony on Wednesday, September 18, in a hotel here.

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe and Gumaca Mayor Webster Letargo led the signing of the
agreement that would foster ties between both local government units.

“More than a formal relationship that we have signed today, (the agreement) symbolizes our shared vision to better serve the people,” said Dalipe.

Gumaca initiated the pact through a resolution approved this month.

In response, the Zamboanga City Sangguniang Panlungsod (city council) approved Resolution 1909 authorizing Dalipe to enter into the agreement with Gumaca.

The agreement is the second sisterhood pact entered into by the city government.

Last November, Zamboanga entered into a sisterhood agreement with Cagayan de Oro City on the promotion of safer roads for children.
