Relief ops in Calumpit, Bulacan continues


Mayor Lem Faustino led the relief operations for the families still suffering from flooding in their areas due to moderate to heavy rains and high tide in Calumpit, Bulacan on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Nearly one thousand relief boxes from the Department of Social Welfare and Development were distributed to the affected families.

Governor Daniel Fernando and Vice Governor Alexis Castro had earlier distributed relief goods to the affected families.

Faustino was joined by Vice Mayor Zar Candelaria and officials from Barangay Meysulao.

In her message, Faustino urged residents to remain strong amidst the trials.

"Maraming bagay ang hindi nasasagot ng tao, pero alam ng Diyos kung ano ang nangyayati sa ating lahat, kaya huwag tayong bumitaw sa ating pananampalataya sa kanya," (There are many things that people cannot answer, but God knows what we is happening to us so continue to have faith in Him)," Faustino said.

Meanwhile, the municipal government will continue to provide free rides from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. at Meyto Bridge and Alfa Mart San Jose to Calumpit crossing and vice versa due to repairs on the Calumpit-Hagonoy provincial road and the imminent intensified implementation of the total truck ban.

The free rides will also be available from 6-8 p.m. from the municipal hall to Meyto Bridge and Alfa Mart San Jose to Calumpit crossing and vice versa.
