Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan urged senior citizens in the city to surrender their old PayMaya cards which are set to expire this month and have them replaced with the new senior citizen cards that do no have an expiration date.

The mayor had recently announced that the senior citizens can claim their monthly allowance from officials of their barangays, following their complaints about the difficulties they encounter using their PayMaya cards.

With the newly implemented distribution system, she appealed to all registered senior citizens to report to the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and  have their PayMaya cards replaced with the new OSCA cards.

OSCA said those who are bedridden or immobilized will be visited by their respective barangay officials upon request so they too can be issued with new senior citizen cards.

Another option, according to OSCA, would be to authorize an able-bodied companion to get their senior cards for them.

The authorized representative may either go directly to the OSCA office at the Manila City Hall or visit any Kalinga sa Maynila forum where OSCA booths are set up for the purpose.
