Iloilo social officer bags Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award


ILOILO CITY – Social officer Ann Rapunzel “Rara” O. Ganzon of the Iloilo provincial government is a recipient of this year’s Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the highest citation given to public servants by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Ganzon received the award from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and CSC Chairman Karlo Nograles during a ceremony on Wednesday, September 18, in Malacañang as part of the 124th CSC anniversary.

She was awarded for uplifting the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the 42 towns and component city of Passi.

Ganzon initiated projects and innovations under the Iloilo Provincial Social Welfare Office that empowered rights and privileges of PWDs as well as upheld their health and wellness.

She was accompanied by her father, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon of Iloilo City, and several Ilonggo officials, including Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. and Mayor Vicente “Junjun” Jaen II of Leganes town.

She was also awarded on the regional level by the CSC-6 in a separate ceremony last Tuesday. Her brother, Iloilo City Councilor Rudolph Jeffrey Ganzon, received the award on her behalf.
