Abalos thanks House for approval of DILG's 2025 budget

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur’’ Abalos Jr. has expressed gratitude  to the House of Representatives for the approval of the department’s P281.3B proposed budget for 2025.

Abalos assured that the funds will finance the DILG’s programs and projects to maintain peace, progress, security and order for the whole nation that will benefit the general public.

The attached agencies under the DILG include the Office of the Secretary, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection(BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Local Government Academy (LGA).

Abalos added that the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) and the National Youth Commission (NYC) are under the supervision of the DILG.

In the proposed DILG budget, the PNP will get the lion’s share with 206.2 billion (73.3 percent), followed by the BFP and the BJMP with allocations of P31 billion and 29.2 billion respectively.
