Tricycle driver busted for shabu in Taguig


A tricycle driver was arrested by the police after he yielded shabu in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Jan. 21.

The operation was conducted by the Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at about 1:50 a.m. in Barangay Ususan. 

Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, chief of the Southern Police District (SPD), identified the suspect as alias Rogel, 46, a tricycle driver and a resident of Taguig.

During the operation, the police seized five plastic sachets and a pouch containing 54.6 grams of shabu valued at P371,280, a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, and six pieces of P1,000 boodle money. 

The suspect is in the custody of the Taguig Police and will be facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

“This operation is a testament to our unwavering resolve to protect the lives and futures of our citizens. We will not falter in our fight against illegal drugs and related crimes,” said Abrugena.
