With the success of the first Tempur cinema in the Philippines, a new experiential showroom opened on September 10 in the same mall—Uptown Bonifacio in Taguig.

Personalities such as Rambo Nuñez, Jason Webb, Justine Luzares, Inka Magnaye, Christian Bables, Arianna Evangelista, and John de Leon were spotted trying out the many products the brand offers. Special celebrity guests Maja Salvador-Nuñez and Mylene Dizon also participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the official launch.

"This isn’t just another showroom—it’s a new chapter for us in Uptown, BGC. What makes this location special is the Uptown Tempur Cinema, where you can truly experience the Tempur difference as you relax on the mattress and adjustable bed for extended periods. After enjoying the ultimate comfort in the cinema, you can easily purchase those same products right here at the showroom," explains Stephen Sy, president of Focus Global Inc., the official distributor in the country.

Comfort and support

For those unfamiliar, Tempur is a global brand originating from Denmark that offers mattresses, pillows, and sleep accessories. Its unique material was originally developed by NASA to provide cushioning and support for astronauts in space. Known for being temperature-sensitive, the material softens in warm areas where the body is resting and remains firmer in cooler spots to offer optimal comfort and support.

Each Tempur pillow and mattress adapts to the user, distributing body weight evenly. This not only helps reduce pressure points and improve blood circulation but also prevents muscle tension and cramps while promoting proper body alignment. The brand offers a variety of pillow and mattress styles, including different firmness levels, shapes, and sizes, to cater to individual sleep preferences.

New in store

With so many sleep products to choose from, it's essential for customers to visit the showroom and explore the options with the help of knowledgeable staff. Senior Brand Manager Aline Lopez shared that the customer purchasing journey often starts with a pillow. "If they like the pillow, they typically move on to the mattresses. Pillow accessories, on the other hand, are usually not our entry point. It’s more of a ‘I can’t live without my Tempur’ feeling, so they want to bring the accessories with them," Lopez says.

These accessories include the bed wedge, seat cushion, seat wedge, and back support. “The newest accessory we have is the comfort travel pillow,” adds Lopez. “Our bestseller is the transit pillow, designed for neck support, and the sleep mask. The travel pillow is a third of the size of our original pillow and comes with a bag, so you can easily roll it up for transport and unroll it when needed.”

In addition to the extensive range of sleep products available at Tempur’s new showroom, an exciting feature is the sleep pod, where customers can experience the products in a more private and immersive setting. Visitors are even encouraged to take a nap to fully understand the benefits. For those concerned about hygiene, all products are hypoallergenic and feature removable, washable covers.

Going green

“We are proud to be the first mattress and pillow brand in the Philippines to have the highly coveted ‘Made in Green’ certification,” shares Jason Nicholas, managing director for Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

In an interview with Manila Bulletin, Nicholas revealed that it took around eight months to achieve certification. “It’s worth doing this to have that peace of mind so that consumers know what we’re saying is the truth,” he adds.

The OEKO-TEX Made in Green certification, developed by the International OEKO-TEX Association, ensures that textiles and other consumer products are tested for harmful substances and manufactured under environmentally friendly and socially responsible conditions.

“There are a lot of claims made by other companies, and sometimes consumers are unsure whether they’re true,” says Nicholas. “So we thought of making it simple for the customer to verify the truth of our claims. Each product comes with a QR code, allowing customers to see exactly what the supply chain is and how we manufacture our products.” He also mentioned that OEKO-TEX conducts audits of their facilities to ensure compliance with the standards.
