Mini bus driver stabs dispatcher to death in Naic, Cavite

CAVITE – A mini bus driver was arrested for stabbing a dispatcher to death in Naic on Monday, Sept. 16.

The Regional Police Office 4A identified the suspect as alias Avelino.

Investigator-on-case Staff Sergeant Rodrigo Veloso told the Manila Bulletin that the suspect and the victim had an argument about bus deployment prior to the commission of the crime.

The suspect claimed that the victim habitually criticized him and prevented him from driving his route.

“Kinabukasan, kinompronta ng suspect, ‘Bakit mo ‘ko laging sinisita, pareho lang naman tayong nagtatrabaho?’ 'Yun pala, 'yung suspect may dala nang kutsilyo. Sabi ng dispatcher, 'Sige may baril ako dito.’ Kaya 'yung suspect, inunahan na niya (The next day, the suspect confronted him, saying, 'Why do you keep calling me out? We're both just doing our jobs.' It turns out, the suspect was already carrying a knife. The dispatcher responded, 'Fine, I have a gun here.' So, the suspect acted first),” Veloso said.

The investigator said the dispatcher was bluffing since no firearm was found in his possession.

Alias Avelino is now under the custody of Naic Municipal Police Station.
