Man stabbed to death in Bacolod


BACOLOD CITY – A 45-year-old man was stabbed dead by a warehouse helper during a heated argument in Barangay Tangub here on Monday, September 16.

Police identified the victim as Ireneo Pangatihon of Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Police Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 8, said the victim and the 40-year-old suspect from Pulupandan, Negros Occidental had an altercation during a drinking session with a friend.

The suspect and the victim figured in another argument when they were about to go home.

The suspect stabbed the victim and fled. Pangatihon sustained five stab wounds in the back and was pronounced dead in a hospital.

Cayao said they proceeded to the house of the suspect but he was not there.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
