Man killed in IED blast at beach resort

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A man was killed in a suspected improvised explosive device explosion inside a beach resort in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur at dawn on Tuesday, September 17.

A MOTORCYCLE damaged by the explosion.  (PNP) 

Police are identifying the mangled victim whose body was reportedly cut in half.

Lawmen found a totally wrecked motorcycle and a bag of ammonium nitrate in the area.

A utility vehicle was spotted fleeing towards the direction of the Tukuran cemetery after the explosion.  

Police cordoned off the area and conducted checkpoints to intercept the suspect.

An explosive ordnance team rushed to the area and investigating as of posting time.
