Fonz Baldonado of the Iloilo Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office reported on Tuesday, September 17, that two landslides struck Janiuay town.

The Janiuay Municipal DRRMO said a 54-year-old woman was injured in a landslide in Barangay Canauili Tres and no one was hurt in a road slide erosion in Barangay Quipot.

Another landslide occurred on Monday, September 16, in Miag-ao, on the national road adjacent to the main campus of the University of the Philippines-Visayas.

At least 17 areas were flooded as of Tuesday afternoon here.

In the town of Guimbal, more than 20 families were evacuated as their coastal homes were damaged.

Many local government units (LGUs) in the towns in southern Iloilo as well as Iloilo City suspended classes for the first two days of the week due to the continuous rain.
