The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) recognized 12 Outstanding Bulakenyos with the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2024 award during the Singkaban Festival on Sunday, September 15.

The event was held at the Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.
One of the awardees was Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco, a resident of Malolos City, for his excellence in community service.
Other Dangal ng Lipi awardees included Dr. Herman Roy Cruz Jr. (Agriculture); Dr. Nathaniel Servando (Science and Technology); Felicidad Galang-Perena (Education); Edgardo Santiago (Arts and Culture); Ernesto Cordero (Bulacan Expatriate); Dr. Juanito Javier (Health); Conrado Onglao (Trade and Industry); Claro S. Cristobal and Mario Lipana (Professionals); Atty. Florentino Manalastas, Jr. (Public Service); and Jocelyn Reyes (Entrepreneur).
Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando also acknowledged and honored the collective efforts of Bulakenyos who stayed committed to the values, principles, and heritage passed down by their ancestors.
“Sa makasaysayang araw na ito, ay bibigyang pagkilala ng ating lalawigan ang mga natatanging ginoo at ginang na naghayag ng pasasalamat sa ating lalawigan, hindi sa pamamagitan ng salita, bagkus ay sa pamamagitan ng makabuluhang gawa at lumikha ng pitak ng kadakilaan sa kani-kaniyang larangan (On this historic day, we will recognize the outstanding gentlemen and women who gave back to our province, not through words, but through significant deeds and works in their respective fields),” he said.
“Bagaman iilan lamang ang kanilang bilang, ang parangal na ito ay kumikilala rin sa pangkalahatan, sa pagsusumikap ng bawat karaniwang Bulakenyong nanatiling totoo sa mga simulain, paniniwala at iniwang legasiya ng ating mga ninuno,” (Although they are only a few, this award also recognizes in general the efforts of every Bulakenyo who remained true to the principles, beliefs, and legacy left by our ancestors)," Fernando added.
