Woman shot dead while walking in La Carlota City

BACOLOD CITY – A 32-year-old woman was shot dead while walking in Barangay II (Poblacion), La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Saturday night, September 14.

Police identified the victim as Kayzie of Barangay I (Poblacion), La Carlota City.

Police Capt. Rosinie Cabuena, deputy chief of the La Carlota City Police Station, said that the victim was walking when an unidentified person on board a motorcycle shot her in the head and body.

The victim was found wounded on the roadside and brought to a hospital. 

Recovered from the crime scene were a deformed slug, two empty shells, and a magazine loaded with six bullets for a .45 caliber pistol.

Cabuena said although the victim was not included in a drugs watchlist, they are looking into the incident as drug-related since they received information that the victim was allegedly involved in illegal drug transactions.

She said the victim died in the hospital on Sunday night, September 15.
