Tricycle driver drowns on river in Quezon

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A tricycle driver drowned on a river in Purok Karachi, Barangay Ibabang Dupay, this city, on Sunday morning, September 15.

Woman dies saving 2 drowning minors in Quezon beach

Police identified the victim as Rozel John Mercado, 38.

Investigation said that Mercado was crossing the river on his way to his live-in partner's residence when he was swept away by strong river current following heavy rain. 

Mercado’s remains were found by a concerned citizen who reported the discovery to the police.

He was last seen alive on Friday, September 13.

An autopsy will be conducted on Mercado’s remains.
