Mangonday was the chief of the Muntinlupa Police’s Community Affairs Section and a recipient of numerous awards for outstanding service.

“We recognize the crucial role that community cooperation plays in solving such cases. We urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed any aspect of this incident to come forward and assist us,” the SPD said in a statement issued on Sept. 16.

The SPD added, “Your support and collaboration are vital in our pursuit of justice. Together, we can ensure that those who commit such heinous acts are held accountable and that our community remains safe.”

“As we mourn this loss, Southern Police District assures the public that we are committed to bringing those responsible to justice. We are conducting thorough investigation to uncover the facts surrounding this incident and ensure that all involved are held accountable,” it said.

SPD said it “will provide full assistance to the late PCapt. Mangonday’s family as they navigate this tragic period. Our support will include all necessary resources to honor his service and assist his loved ones during this time of grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with PCapt. Mangonday and his wife, and we remain resolute in our commitment to upholding the law and protecting our citizens.”

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon and Muntinlupa Police chief Col. Roberto Domingo earlier condemned the killing of Mangonday and his wife.
