QCPD medical mission serves over 3,000 cops, detainees

A total of 3,968 personnel from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Persons Under Police Custody (PUPCs) benefited from free medical and dental checkups provided by the QCPD Medical and Dental Unit (DMDU).

The initiative aimed at prioritizing the health of both police personnel and those under their custody.

The program ran from August 16 to September 15 in various police stations and units in the city.

According to QCPD public information office, the initiative offered various services, including medical assessments, diet and nutritional counseling, health lectures on common illnesses, and prevention strategies.

It added that stress management workshops and dental consultations were also included in the program.

DMDU also provided health and dental kits to promote hygiene and wellness.

Police participants also received multivitamins to strengthen their immune systems, along with information, education, and communication (IEC) materials on various health topics, including awareness and preparedness for the mpox virus.

The PUPCs were provided with regular health monitoring, including blood pressure checks to ensure their well-being during their detention.

QCPD chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan emphasized the importance of health and wellness of police personnel to maintain the district’s operational effectiveness.

“Through the ‘Alagang QCPD’ program, we are not only ensuring the safety of the public but also taking care of the men and women who dedicate themselves to serving our community,” he said.

The QCPD reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing the physical and mental health of its personnel through regular checkups and wellness activities, ensuring that they will remain fit and capable in fulfilling their duties for the safety and security of QCitizens.
