The Croc slippers were handed to Grade 1 to 6 pupils of Tayabas West Central School 1, Tayabas East Central School, and Gibanga East Elementary School by Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso, businessman Edwin Abadilla and wife Emily, Hotei Construction Supply and Sun Moon Star Hardware, and Merian Reyes, owner of Star Horse Shipping Lines.

Pontioso said her administration focuses on the well-being of students, especially those in far-flung villages.

She said part of her goals for young learners is to provide them  with strong Wi-Fi connection in their schools.

"Our young students should not be deprived of the convenience of technology. They are the ones who will push our city to greater advancement and they need all the assistance from the city government," said Pontioso.

She said their slippers could be the "jumpstart of confidence" to motivate them to reach their dreams. The lady mayor thanked the donors.
