Tropical Storm “Ferdie” killed six persons in the short span of time that it wreaked havoc in the country, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The NDRRMC said four of the fatalities were recorded in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) while the remaining two deaths were logged in Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9).
The disaster council said the reported casualties were still undergoing validation.
Aside from that, two persons were also missing – one each in Western Visayas (Region 6) and Region 9.
There were also 11 persons who were hurt: 9 in BARMM and two in Soccsksargen (Region 12).
Ferdie, which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday night and left before dawn on Saturday, also affected 47,166 families composed of 203,197 individuals.
There remain 3,528 families or 13,825 individuals who were staying in evacuation centers while 4,720 families or 22,801 individuals were staying in other people’s shelter after being displaced.
