2 suspects including Chinese man yield P680,000 worth of shabu in Manila

Around P680,000 worth of shabu was seized from two drug suspects including a Chinese national in Ermita, Manila, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Sunday, September 15.

MPD identified the suspects as Welby Chua, 47, resident of Malate, Manila, and Reniel Ashley Batle, 22, resident of Quezon City.

According to the police report, the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives of MPD Ermita Police Station 5 around 10:30 p.m. on September 13, along Kalaw Street corner Bocobo Street, Barangay 666 in Ermita, Manila.

Around 100 grams of alleged shabu were seized from the drug suspects.

Police said the suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
