5 fishers rewarded P25,000 each for surrendering shabu found at sea

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The provincial government awarded P25,000 and food packs each to five fishermen who surrendered packs of shabu they recovered on the West Philippine Sea in this province last month.

They were Johny Zamora of Burgos town, Fragante Felix Patoc Jr. of Barangay La Paz here, Geronimo G. Calasag of Pagudpud, and Margun M. Paltep and Marnie Cariaga of Pasuquin. 

Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc and provincial police chief Police Col. Frederick Obar handed over the reward at the provincial capitol here.

The five fishermen turned over a total of 6.2 kilos of shabu valued at P42.2 million.

Manotoc cited them as role models in the campaign against illegal drugs.
